Eligibility Requirements
All members attending Venture South will require a valid Australian Passport with an expiry date of at least 16 July 2013 or greater. If you hold a passport of a different nationality, please contact us before applying.
Venturers
- Be aged at least 14.5 years of age and not have had their 18th birthday as at 4 January 2013
- Must be a registered and invested Venturer, and hold the Venturing Skills Award
- Must be recommended by their Venturer Leader, Group Leader and District Commissioner
- Must be accepted by the Australian Contingent
In New Zealand, Venturers are aged up to 18.5 years. Australian young Rovers aged between 18 and 18.5 may be accepted by the Contingent Leader as Venturers if they meet certain criteria. Please contact the Contingent Leader for more information. Venturers under 18 will be given first preference in attending.
Leaders
- Be a registered Leader holding a Certificate of Adult Leadership with Scouts Australia
- It is preferred that Leaders be Leaders of Youth within the Venturer Section
- Must be endorsed by your Group, District, Region and Chief Commissioner
- Must be accepted by the Australian Contingent
Rovers
- Be aged at least 19 years of age and not have had their 26th Birthday by 4 January 2013
- Must be a registered and invested (knighted) Rover, and hold the Rovering Skills Award
- Must be endorsed by your Crew, District, Region and Chief Commissioner
- Must be accepted by the Australian Contingent
Rover positions within the Contingent are very limited. Preference will be given to rovers who have prior service experience on National Ventures.
